Beautiful Day

Today it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS outside! Finally, it is warm enough to be outside without a jacket. I actually took my lunch break outside today and started sweating and had to head back inside. Then when I got back inside, I was still burning up. Thankfully my supervisor had two fans in our room that cooled it down a little. Maybe I shouldn't wear long sleeves under my scrubs tomorrow? But honestly, this is such a good problem to have. I am so sick and tired of the cold weather. I'm just hoping it stays this warm and Beautiful! For any of you that don't already know, the time changes this upcoming weekend! As much as I hate losing an hour of sleep, I can't wait for it to stay light outside longer! Yay!

This past weekend was pretty uneventful for me and Ben. We did, however, go out to eat on Saturday night with our good friends, Leigh Anna and Bagby. We went to a restaurant called Mud Town (I think?) and it was sooo good. It was a tiny little place, but I loved the atmosphere and loved the food. It was so great to get to catch up with our friends too. Unfortunately, we must have been having soo much fun that I didn't even take any pictures! I guess we'll just have to go out to eat with them again soon so that I can take some!

As for this week, I probably won't be posting a whole lot. I know I have been slacking lately, but I plan to pick it back up soon when things slow down a little. This week, on Thursday and Friday, I am actually attending the SHAA (Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama) convention. It is just a huge convention for all SLP's across the state of Alabama, where we can attend tons of different lectures on almost any topic/age group in speech pathology. For most, its a great way to get continueing education hours while learning about specific areas of interest. Although I don't need the hours, I'm just going to see what I can learn to help with my future career! Luckily, it is right here in Birmingham. I am really excited about it!

This Saturday, I am taking the National Praxis Exam for Speech Pathology! AHH!! So for the rest of this week, I'm going to try to study a little every night.... at least thats the plan anyways. Studying was also the plan for this past weekend, and I never opened a book. I guess you could say I work best under pressure... and the pressure should definitely be kicking in soon considering I'm taking the exam in 5 days..Wow. I probably should've started studying before now, but I just couldn't make myself do it. Hopefully I know enough to pass!

Anyway, hope you all are having a FABULOUS Monday!

  1. It is called Mudtown, and yes, we were having so much fun we forgot pictures. Good luck studying this week, and maybe we can get together again in a couple of weeks!
