Happy Halloweekend!

I have ALWAYS loved celebrating halloween in Decatur with my family. I don't really love the actual holiday itself; Like, for instance, I don't like scary decorations or costumes and I hate scary movies and haunted houses. However, I do like carving pumpkins and I LOVE candy corn!! But, my favorite part of Halloween by far is spending it with my entire family at my parents house in Decatur. I don't know why, but it is always so much fun. My neices and nephew all come over to my parents house dressed up (and of course my sister, brother and their significant others, along with my grandparents attend), my mom usually makes some type of soup, we all hang out and then the kids head out to go trick-or-treating while the rest of us stay and hand out candy.

Halloween in our neighborhood is unlike anything I've ever seen anywhere else. We have TONS of trick-or-treaters. It's mass chaos, but I love it! We don't have to go inside and wait on someone to ring the doorbell, we just sit on the front steps and constantly hand it out. People travel from other parts of the city to our neighborhood. Just to give you an idea, my mom had 1200 pieces of candy and we were completely OUT by 7:30 P.M, and there were trick or treaters coming by for at least another hour after that. You snooze you lose, I guess!

Here is a picture of the cars starting to file in... This was taken at about 5:30, right before it got dark and before it even started, and it was already starting to get busy. Imagine what it was like about an hour later...Insane! and yes, those are policemen out to direct traffic etc.

My sweet little neice, Abby, was a cupcake! Isn't she precious?

My other neice, Kayli, was a nerd! haha and Chase was Jason..I think...haha or one of those scary characters!! Nonetheless, they were both cute in their costumes!

This was really Abby's first year to really "participate" in trick or treating. My sister and I took her to a couple of houses early before the night got started. She was soo cute!

She rang the doorbell by herself, and then said "Trick-or-Treat" in her sweet little voice. She would then say "Thank you," after receiving the candy.

Unfortunately, she was scarred when someone answered the door in a big scary mask. It scared her to death, and from then on she wouldn't go near another house. She wanted to be held constantly and cried if we put her down. She toughened up later after it got dark though, and went with her mom and dad.

My sister and her family always go to a Halloween party with their friends every year. This year since Halloween was on Sunday, they had their party on Saturday. They stopped by my parents house to show off their costumes.

My sister was a "nerd" with Kayli.

and my brother-in-law and one of his good friends dressed up as the Geico Cavemen..
Isn't that hilarious?!?!?! (I actually stole this picture from my sister. Mark didn't dress up at my house because they were waiting to dress up together before the party. I just couldn't resist sharing!)
Anyway, before they left for their party, we all watched a little bit of the Auburn game together..
And our good friends Whitney and Brian came over to join us...
Overall, it was such a fun weekend. I can't wait until next year!
Stay tuned for a baby update!!
